8 Extra Uses for a Wine Bag

Cotton Printed Wine Bag

We sell some of the most beautiful and stylish wine bags around, as you can see by checking out our store. However, what happens once you’ve gifted someone their wine (or you’ve been gifted some wine) and you no longer have any need for the wine bag? With wine bags that are so stylish and chic, it would be a shame to waste them or throw them away after their intended use, so we started looking at ways of upcycling and reusing handbags

It turns out that you can use a wine bag for lots of things around your home once you have used it, which is especially handy if you like the unique feel and design of your chosen wine bag! Of course, you could always use it for keeping more wine bottles in, but we understand that you may want to limit your wine consumption (a little bit anyway!) while still enjoying your fun and appealing wine bag.

So, without further ado, here are 8 extra uses for a wine bag!

1. Gifts

So let’s get the most obvious thing out of the way! If you receive a stylish fabric wine bag when you get a present from someone, you could always keep the wine bag and plan to use it when you give wine or a bottle of something similar (such as whiskey, vinegar, oil etc.) to someone else as a present. Just make sure that you don’t give the wine bag back to the same person! In fact, a wide range of oblong-shaped gifts could fit in a wine bag, so don’t be afraid to get creative and save on wrapping paper by upcycling a wine bag in this manner!

2. Vase

Here’s a way to recycle both a bottle of wine and the wine bag it came in! Wash out the empty bottle of wine and fill in part-way with fresh water. Next, put a few long-stemmed flowers in the wine bottle, treating it like a vase. Now carefully wrap your wine bottle around the makeshift vase, creating a unique and engaging vase decoration which gives your home a fun and creative twist to flower displays!

3. Water

When you’re out and about, do you ever find that you want a bottle of water (or another similar drink) but you don’t have anywhere to put it? You should try using a wine bag as a water carrying bag when you’re away from home! Not only will it hold your water bottle conveniently and comfortably, but it will also help to protect your valuables from any minor leaks due to the fabric of the wine bag. This way, you can throw your water bottle into a backpack or handbag without worrying about leaks as much!

4. Snacks

Similarly, the bags are also great for carrying around little snacks with you on the go. If you feel like you’re going to need a little food-based fuel or pick-me-up when you’re out on the town, but you don’t want to lug around a bulky bag to put it in, you could use a fabric wine bag to store your snack or small packed lunch. A wine bag could easily fit a piece of fruit, a small sandwich, a chocolate bar, and many other similar snacks inside. The best part? When you’ve eaten your snack, you can simply put the wine bag in your pocket – you don’t need to carry around a cumbersome item all day!

5. Washing machine bag

Sometimes there are things that you want to throw in the washing machine, but you’re a little hesitant about damaging your machine in the process. For these sorts of items, a washing machine bag is perfect! Due to their thin fabric construction, a wine bag can be used as a washing machine bag very easily!

Of course, you won’t be able to fit anything huge into a wine bag like this, but lots of smaller-sized shoes can be washed this way. For example, flats and converse-style shoes will easily fit into a wine bag, helping them to be washed safely and easily without damaging them. This can bring old shoes back to life and save you a bunch of money on buying new ones!

6. Gift wrap bag

Do you have a bunch of rolls of gift wrap messing up your house? Perhaps they are strewn across the back of your wardrobe or taking up space under your bed? Instead, you could use a wine bag to store them! Hanging the wine bag on a clothes hanger or on the side of a bed, use the bag to store rolls of gift wrap and easily find them when the next birthday or holiday season rolls around. It’s never been easier to keep track of your rolls of gift wrap!

7. Décor

If you have received a wine bag with a witty message or cute design, like the ones you’ll find on our store, then you could transform the fabric wine bag into a fun piece of décor for your home. Using scissors, cut out the main design of the wine bag and find a way to incorporate it into your home’s design. For example, you could frame it and treat it like a picture in your kitchen, or you could collect wine bags and create a collage of their fabric prints over time.

8. Traveling

Do you struggle to keep track of your toiletries or makeup when traveling? Are they usually thrown in a plastic bag in your suitcase, lacking any real inspiration? Instead, why not repurpose your cute wine bag into a travel bag for toiletries, accessories, makeup, and other similar smaller items. The drawstring means that you won’t have to worry about your valuables escaping from the bag during transit, and while you’re on vacation (or business) at your destination, you’ve got a fun little bag to store your makeup and toiletries in while you’re away from your usual surroundings at home.
